Problem
After some major feature updates (e.g. to Windows 10 20H2) the system image may be rendered un-bootable.
Solution
1. Create a VM.
Create (if not already created) and Turn On a ggRock VM with desired System Image and Games Image you with to apply updates to in local drives mode (This is because in some cases windows settings are reset to default including crash dump settings which may prevent 20H2+ versions of Windows from booting). (See the Machines Administration Manual for more information). Additionally, please refer to "Controlling a Virtual Machine" for more information on how to control VMs.
2. Enable "Keep Writebacks" in the Settings of the VM.

3. Turn on the VM.
4. Control the VM.
5. Configure Network on the VM
Download the ggRock Image Creation Tool.
Please ensure you are using the ggRock Image Creation Tool 0.80 or newer.
Capture Network Card Configuration using the ggRock Image Creation Tool by clicking the "Configure and Restart" button.
NOTE:
Do not click the "Create Image" button once the machine restarts. In this case we only need to capture the network configuration since the VM is booting in local drives mode directly on the server.
6. Shut Down the Virtual Machine.
7. Disable "Keep Writebacks" in the Settings of the VM.

8. Apply Writebacks.
(See Applying Writebacks for more information).
Enter a comment when prompted (typically initials of the administrator, the date, and the contents (In this case reference the fact that we updated network configuration for the VM).
Example:
ABC - 07-14-2021 - Updated NIC Configuration using ggRock IC Tool.
9. Confirm Update Installation
Boot a VM in network mode using the System Image and Game Image pair you updated with the ggRock IC Tool.
